After twelve years and four releases, Roof Beams hits a new level of musicianship and deeply personal songwriting on Charon (Freeloader Free Press - www.freeloaderfreepress.com ). There's an urgency to the emotional content of the 11 songs that transcends their previous releases. The folk and punk roots of Roof Beams’ past albums remain, but they are joined by an indie-rock punch and sweeping arrangements that feel at once raw and timeless.

This album is the first Roof Beams release with a refreshed lineup including Sean Arawjo (drums, flute, trombone, bells), Phillips Saylor (guitars, banjo, vocals), Jonathan Een Newton (cello, vocals), and Chris Lombardi (bass, vocals), each of whom adds their lush instrumentation to the personal and political expressions layered in Robinson’s lyrics.
